I awoke with sadness… and my heart has been broken once again. I live between what I dream is possible for my son and the reality before us. I know we will find our way through the thicket to true North. I trust I will find a new song to sing along the way. In the meantime, remind me of the beauty of the journey and sing some songs to me.

Jean, I hear you. I hear you about your heart being broken once again as you live between what you "dream is possible for my son and the reality before us."

I, too, know that you will find your way, with love, care and prayers for you and your beloved family.

May our song guide us

when our eyes can’t find a trail,

when darkness blinds us.

...

Love’s rhythms lead us,

past borders, barriers, damned dams.

We walk, work with hope.

"We stand at the edge of a true wilderness. No one has entered it, nor worn a path for us. There are no maps.

We look toward the great openness in awe of the freedom and possibility before us." Barbara Rohde.

I was reminded of the Biblical text -- "We walk by faith and not by sight" when I read this meditation. I am grateful that she uses the plural "we" and "us" which is a reminder that we are not alone, that we do not walk this path alone.
