Any attempt to engineer your own plan for enlightenment is doomed to fail, because it will be ego driven. You will see only what you have decided to look for, and you cannot see what you are not ready or told to look for. Failure and humiliation force you to look where you never would otherwise. We must be actually out of the driver's seat for a while, or we will never learn to give up control.
There must be, and, if we are honest, there will always be at least one situation in our lives that we cannot fix, control, explain, change, or understand.
A crucible is a vessel that holds molten metal in one place long enough to be purified and clarified.”
