Breath by Breath
Life proceeds, breath by breath.
Deep, full and easy,
Shallow or uneven,
Breathing is key to
cultivating peace.
Breath by breath,
We choose to be present.
It isn’t success we are seeking,
But surrender to the flow of energy.
It’s not control that matters,
But letting go,
Allowing life, exactly as it is
in this moment,
To touch and change
and breathe through you.
There's a message within
that only you can hear.
Listening requires quiet,
patience, and a willingness
to notice inner urges.
The payoff, if you do this,
is to finally know your heart --
that fierce and tender part
of you longing to be
welcomed and received.

Breath by breath,
We choose to be present,
~ Danna Faulds.
Breathing -- I think of it -- both physically and metaphorically. Especially in these chaotic political and economic times. I think of breathing in the spiritual and emotional sense as well. To stop, and take a breath... our physical survival depends upon breathing... and I am invited to consider our emotional and spiritual survival as well.
Letting go of the branch, breath by breath, opening my hands, breath by breath. I think about you, Jean, on this day, unhurried, resting, breath by breath. Releasing anger and choosing to focus on the next adventure, breath by breath.
